This black number plate holder is a German-made surround for a standard UK 520mm × 111mm number plate. It screws to the vehicle through the mounting holes already there, so the plate itself is never drilled, and the plate then slides into the frame. Buy it as a single holder or as a front and rear pair. It is not made for square 4x4 rear plates or motorbike plates.

Screws and caps are not included. Reuse the ones already on the vehicle, or add a screw fixing kit.
Fits
- Standard UK 520mm × 111mm acrylic plates on cars, vans and many trailers.
- The backplate has multiple mounting holes, so it lines up with most factory mounting points without drilling new ones.
- Not suitable for square 4x4 plates or motorcycle plates.
The frame covers old screw marks and protects the edges of the plate. A holder is legal as long as it does not cover any part of the registration or the required marks: check that every character, the spacing, the supplier name and the BS AU 145e mark on the plate stay fully visible once it is fitted.
Fitting
- Remove the existing plate and keep the screws.
- Offer the holder up to the vehicle and pick the mounting holes that line up.
- Screw the holder to the vehicle.
- Slide or clip the plate into the surround and check that nothing on the plate is obscured.
